My way of thinking: Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which causes many health problems. Sugary products should be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar.
There has been a notion that sweet products should be made more expensive to drive individuals to consume less sugar because industrial food and beverage products contain high levels of sugar which leads to some health problems. It seems to me, although increasing the price of sugary products may be able to reduce consuming sugar, I strongly disagree with this notion because of an economic impact and impractical idea. The campaign of reducing consumption of sweet products has been emerging since having a higher level of sugar is dangerous, including obesity and diabetes. One effective strategy is that food and drink industries must increase the price of their products. However, this notion has detrimental effects for the industries and societies since they are struggling to run the business and purchase the products.
