Adjectives
The adjective is a modifier that has the grammatical property of comparison.
It is often identified by special derivational endings or by special adverbial modifiers
that precede it. It is most usual position is before the noun it modifies but
it fills others positions as well. A number of grammatical structures may
function as adjective modifiers of nouns. Most of these follow the nouns they
refer to.
Adjective clause : the girl who is sitting at the desk over there.
Participial phrase : the girl sitting at the desk over there.
Prepositional phrase : the girl at the desk over there.
Adverb : the
girl over there.
Infinitive phrase : the only
girl to finish on time.
